About the role
AeonSea Test Marina 2 is seeking an experienced Marine Service Technician to perform diagnostics, repair, maintenance, and installation work on a wide range of recreational and commercial marine propulsion systems.
This is a hands-on technical position for an experienced marine mechanic who is capable of independently diagnosing and repairing both gasoline and diesel marine engines, including outboard, sterndrive, and inboard propulsion systems.
The Service Technician will work closely with the Service Manager, other technicians, marina operations staff, and vessel owners to complete scheduled maintenance, troubleshoot mechanical problems, perform repairs, document work performed, and return vessels to service safely and efficiently.
Primary responsibilities include engine diagnostics, preventative maintenance, fuel-system service, cooling-system repairs, electrical troubleshooting, propulsion-system maintenance, lower-unit and sterndrive service, inboard repairs, engine component replacement, commissioning, and general marine mechanical work.
Technicians are expected to accurately document diagnostics, labor, parts, repairs, and recommendations within the marina's service-management system and communicate additional repair needs to the Service Manager before performing work outside the approved scope.

Requirements
Candidates must have strong hands-on experience diagnosing, servicing, and repairing both gasoline and diesel marine engines.
Applicants must be experienced with:
Outboard engines
Sterndrive propulsion systems
Inboard marine engines
Gasoline marine engines
Diesel marine engines
Fuel and ignition systems
Cooling systems
Marine electrical and charging systems
Engine diagnostics and computerized diagnostic tools
Lower units, drives, transmissions, and related propulsion components
Preventative maintenance and seasonal service
Troubleshooting mechanical and electrical faults
The technician must be capable of working independently from a service request or work order, performing an accurate diagnosis, identifying required parts and labor, completing authorized repairs, and documenting the completed work.
Strong attention to safety, organization, cleanliness, and customer property is required.
Candidates must also be comfortable working aboard vessels, inside engine compartments, around docks and boatyards, and in varying outdoor conditions.
Required Mercury Marine Certifications
Applicants must maintain appropriate current Mercury Marine technical certifications, including:
MerCruiser Sterndrive Certified
MerCruiser Inboard Certified
Outboard Certified
Mercury MerCruiser Master Technician
Mercury Outboard Master Technician
Candidates should be capable of applying their Mercury training across diagnostics, maintenance, warranty-related procedures where applicable, and complex mechanical repairs.
Additional manufacturer certifications, ABYC certifications, diesel-engine training, electrical certifications, or other recognized marine-industry credentials are considered highly valuable.
Technical Expectations
This position requires more than routine parts replacement. Technicians should be capable of diagnosing the underlying cause of mechanical or electrical failures and determining an appropriate repair strategy.
The successful candidate should be comfortable handling work ranging from routine annual maintenance to complex engine and propulsion-system diagnosis.
Because AeonSea Test Marina 2 services a variety of vessels, technicians must be capable of transitioning between gasoline and diesel-powered boats and working with multiple propulsion configurations.

This is an on-site technical position. Additional flexibility may occasionally be required for urgent vessel repairs, seasonal workload, customer schedules, launch deadlines, or other marine-service operational needs.
