About the role
AeonSea Test Marina 2 is seeking an experienced Dockmaster to oversee daily dock operations, vessel movements, slip activity, guest service, and waterfront safety. This is a hands-on leadership position for an experienced marina professional who understands the operational demands of a busy waterfront environment.
The Dockmaster will coordinate transient and long-term vessel arrivals and departures, oversee slip assignments, assist customers and captains, monitor dock conditions, coordinate fueling and dockside services where applicable, and work closely with marina management and service personnel to maintain safe and efficient operations.
The ideal candidate has at least 10 years of marina, dock, boating, or marine-operations experience and is comfortable making operational decisions in a fast-moving environment. Strong customer-service skills, practical boating knowledge, and the ability to lead dock personnel are essential.
The Dockmaster will also help maintain accurate operational records, communicate with customers regarding reservations and marina services, respond to changing weather and waterfront conditions, and ensure dock procedures and safety expectations are consistently followed.
Requirements
Minimum of 10 years of relevant marina, dockmaster, marine operations, commercial boating, or closely related waterfront experience.
Candidates should have strong knowledge of vessel handling, docking procedures, marina operations, slip assignments, dock safety, and customer service. Experience supervising dock staff or leading waterfront operations is strongly preferred.
The successful candidate should be comfortable communicating with vessel owners, captains, guests, contractors, and marina personnel; resolving operational problems independently; and managing multiple vessel movements and customer needs simultaneously.
Candidates must be dependable, organized, safety-conscious, and capable of working outdoors in varying weather conditions. Basic computer proficiency and the ability to use marina-management, reservation, payment, and operational software are expected.
Marine certifications, boating credentials, first-aid/CPR training, fuel-dock experience, or other relevant maritime qualifications are considered beneficial.
